In 2000, the Glencadam distillery was mothballed, only to be reopened in 2003. To mark the 13th anniversary of its reopening, Glencadam released the 13 Year Old expression, The Reawakening, in 2017. Production was limited to just 6,000 bottles.
Nose: The aroma opens with grassy malt, leading into notes of vanilla-rich fudge and lemon oil.
Palate: Juicy pear and grapefruit flavors take center stage, complemented by hints of rye bread, marmalade, and a peppery kick in places.
Finish: The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of cinnamon and poached fruit.
