The new Johnnie Walker Black Cask features a striking detail on its label. While Black Label traditionally carries an age statement, the Black Cask does not. Rather than spotlighting age, this whisky puts the emphasis on cask character.
Whereas Johnnie Walker Black Label is partially matured in European oak, Black Cask is aged 100% in ex-bourbon barrels from Kentucky. These casks impart sweeter, spicier notes during maturation than European oak. The result keeps the soul of the classic Black Label intact, while delivering a much softer flavor profile. 
Flavor-wise, this new blended Scotch leans into vanilla, caramel, and gentle wood tones.
