A departure from our typically lightly peated single malt, our Heavily Peated Kilkerran is released twice per year at cask strength and around 45PPM. Although the maturation can vary, it is typically matured predominantly in Bourbon casks.
Nose
Creamy butterscotch and caramel notes in the beginning, with the development of notes of rye bread and tea leaf.
Palate
A familiar oiliness and smokiness is introduced on the palate, with notes of Iberico ham and brandy snaps.
Finish
A gentle finish, there are notes of lemon sherbet, honeycomb and mint, with peat smoke carrying through to the finish.
