American oak ex-bourbon casks come first, building spicy sweetness and warm vanilla. Then Oloroso sherry butts take over, lending depth, colour and dried fruit. All of it resting in the darkened calm of our Wick warehouse – cool, humid, patient – for twenty-five years on Scotland’s far north coast.  
 
The result is Old Pulteney at its most considered: complex without performance, rare without ceremony. 
Nose: Zesty citrus and tropical fruit to begin, giving way to the rich weight of mature wood.
Taste: Cinnamon, nutmeg and dark chocolate, with spicy heat. The finish is long and deeply coastal – the character of Wick, right to the end.
